Thanksgiving Hours

The Library will close at 5:00 on Wednesday November 21st and remain closed until Saturday November 24th.  We will be open from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday November 24th.

The Hungry Ear November 26th @ 5:30

"The Hungry Ear," a library program celebrating the art of the short story since 2007, takes a Christmas/Holiday theme for its November program.  Amy Smith assumes the role of V.I. Warshawski, Sara Paretsky's famous female P.I. in Three-Dot Po.  A story of a Christmas  mystery on the banks of Lake Michigan that a dog helps to solve.  Bill Gorman reads The Live Tree by John Lutz. An ex convict relative pays an unexpected visit at Christmastime.  Host Judy McMahon calls it 'a cocktail hour for the mind.  For further information call the Library at 607-778-6451.

Books and Beans November 29th @ 6:00 at The Shop

The Library has started a new book club. The group will meet at various businesses in the City of Binghamton. The next meeting will be held at The Shop located at 219 WashingtonStreet.

Origins of Thanksgiving November 29th at 6:00

The presentation will be given by Dr. Timothy P. Bridgman, a local published professional Historian and Reference Librarian at the Broome County Public Library. It will focus on the origins of the American holiday of Thanksgiving, putting the holiday in historical context, and its original significance for those who celebrated it.
